a message in my web journal about the Asian Blush, which quickly resulted in over 100 very-informative comments. This forum is intended to be an information source for those of us looking for information about why we turn red when we drink alcohol.

Hi Meakins,
How much will depend on the individual - for me personally 1 pint is enough.
In answer to your second question, yes you should be able to drink 4 hours later and for the rest of the night without any flushing (assuming you followed all the other steps correctly).

J
Hi Vega,
I know what you mean, I used to get very bad nausea from alcohol.
I guess we can always use methods to reduce our alcohol reactions but we also have to be realistic. If you're 18 years old and weigh 40kg then you probably should try to drink a bottle of vodka ;)
This is just an example, but i think you know what i mean. If you're getting nausea even after trying all the possible solutions available then I'd suggest drinking less and also slower.
Hope this helps Vega,
J
This happens to me too, a drink the night before will reduce the flush the next day.
Similarly, I have also found that a drink a few hours before going out also helps reduce the flushing for that night.
Probably best to seek medical attention :)
Would be interested to hear from people whether this was able to totally eliminate their Asian flush.
I really hope the lead time for this product is not 5 to 10 years. I guess it all depends on demand and funding, and funding will come from cashed up investment funds who see the potential to make a quick buck on it.
In the meantime, fingers crossed i guess :)
Hey Andrew,
If your friend has taken 3 year old medication and is experiencing bad side effects shouldn't they be going to a doctor?

LoL Jasko ;)
Probably best to keep copyright infringement less public than that, especially when people who work for the No Red Face Formula often use this forum.
Just to clarify, this is not an Ad, rather a response to the above question.
For those who are interested in the No Red Face Formula it involves more than just taking Pepcid, its $37 after all.
It also comes with a satisfaction guarantee so I don't really understand the concern about it being a scam. How can it be if there is a money back guarantee?
If anyone has any questions about the product don't hesitate to email me and myself or one of my colleagues will do our best to help you out.
good luck,
regards,
j
A cure is already readily available to us. Pepcid AC works very well if administered correctly, as does bakers yeast, and a plethora of other techniques available to totally reduce the flush. Why not try what works for you?
50% of asians seems to be a rough estimate according to what i have read. Also a smaller percentage of those from middle eastern origin.
try the pepcid AC, it works, or at very least reduces the flushing significantly. you can purchase some via links on this forum.
hope this helps.
Yes I have and it does not work, Pepcid AC works.
Hi Naf,
I have found that the Pepcid AC helps against the nausea, headaches and dizziness, as well as the red face.
It seems to combat the reaction that occurs as a result of our lacking enzyme, thus helping to curb all the symptoms that arise because of this.
Hope this helps,
J
No problem at all, happy to help.
A few tips:
- Use Pepcid AC as described on this forum.
- Drink slowly (like 1 beer over 30 minutes to an hour), avoid taking shots or sculling.
- Build up a tolerance, bearing in mind the speculated cancer risks associated with drinking.
- Find out which type of alcohol best agrees with your body.
- Drink water
Best of Luck,
In my experience, the Pepcid aids in reducing not only the red face reaction but also the other common side effects such as headache, constricted breathing, etc. It also seems to reduce the morning after hangover effect too. Maybe its the type of alcohol that you're drinking...
nope not a scam - just trying to help.
Sam, try the Pepcid AC, it works well. just make sure you take it about 1 hour before drinking and try to not eat anything too substantial after taking it - so obviously make sure you eat something before hand. Also, take the Pepcid with a lot of water, i've found that that helps a lot.
tit008 - I charge $27 because it cost me a lot of money to research it...
There are pills being sold on the internet claiming to be a cure for Asian Flush. I wouldnt be suprised if they were just re-branded Pepcid. Have a read on this forum and you should be able to find enough information to combat your redness by just taking Pepcid AC.
There are a lot of ways to reduce the alcohol flush reaction. Taking Pepcid AC before drinking is one of them.
According to what i have read on this forum and elsewhere, the method is quite simple:
- Take Pepcid AC 1 hour or so before drinking with a lot of water
- Apparently it is better not to eat anything after taking the Pepcid, so make sure you have eaten sufficiently before hand as it is also not a great idea to drink on an empty stomach.
- Obviously check with a medical practitioner before taking Pepcid as it is a drug that can affect different people in different ways.
Hope this helps,
One natural way to overcome the flush, without taking Pepcid AC, is to prepare yourself before you go out drinking by drinking enough alcohol so that you become totally flushed, then waiting until the flushing dies down before you go out and start drinking. The level of flush that you experience the second time around will be significantly reduced.
Regards,
I get this too, what helps is ensuring that you have eaten sufficiently before you start drinking. This helps break down the alcohol and reduces the nasty side effects such as flushing and headaches. I also experience fewer headaches when using Pepcid AC before drinking, whilst also making sure that i dont drink too quickly.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
i have heard no news. However if you have a read on this forum there are many things you can do to calm the flushing effects. Some people speak of using antacids such as Pepcid AC before drinking to reduce the flushing effects.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
I have been to a doctor recently regarding a stomach acid issue. In the discussions we spoke about taking Pepcid AC on a regular basis. The doctor commented that there are no significant side effects, however there is the possibility that the Pepcid AC can mask the symptoms of more serious underlying problems that may require treatment rather than symptomatic relief.
