According to a recent survey by Social Talent, social media is still a very important part of the recruitment mix for today's recruiters. The specialist recruitment training company surveyed recruiters recruiter fromseveral countries with the majority of responses coming from Ireland (31%). The questions focused on social networking for recruitment, new candidate sources and the recruiter's outlook on the recruitment market. The survey uncovered some interesting results.

It is also a great idea to join applicable groups and get involved in the discussions, this way you can promote your job vacancy and your business.

Due to the variety of social media sites you will need to think carefully about which one you use; Twitter is a great way of getting your business recognised, follow relevant industries or people and they will recruiters hopefully follow you back and from there you can quickly build a "fan base". A quick tweet about a vacancy could provide you with some prospective employees, especially if you ask your followers to "retweet", this will open up your audience even more.
