Aerial 360º spherical images

I’ve been enjoying taking aerial 360º shots using the DJI Inspire 1 and Phantom 3. They take only a couple of minutes to capture, and processing is easy using web-based services like 360cities. Here’s a shot I took earlier today in San Francisco with an Inspire 1. I can’t seem to embed the spherical version ...

Wheee! The vibrations you see are coming from the shaking of the GoPro extension, which is attached to the Inspire a using a standard GoPro adhesive mount. It is not very rigid, ...

Aerial live broadcast, 1 year ago

One year ago today, I did my first aerial live broadcast from a quadcopter, using a Phantom 2, GoPro, Lightbridge, and a computer broadcasting to Google Hangouts on Air over LTE.   .@djiglobal Phantom 2 w/Lightbridge and @Atomos_News Ninja Blade, recording 720p in ProRes, and live broadcast to Google Hangouts on Air. I met up with a friend at a park in the Marina and shot this panorama of San Francisco using a DJI Phantom 3 Professional quadcopter. The wind was blowing really hard, but it was no problem: sent the thing up, took 6 pictures in Adobe DNG raw with approximately 50% overlap in each, and ...

Foothills fog at 70x speed, taken from DJI Phantom 3 Professional hovering for around 13 minutes 400’ over a canyon in the San Mateo Highlands in California. Video was fairly stable out of the camera, but was further stabilized using Adobe Warp Stabilizer. (Source: https://player.vimeo.com/)
