I am one of the unlucky cacausians to have the asian flush. My entire moms side of the family is the same. I stumbled across this forum looking for a remedy. Because I am from Canada Pepcid Ac is readily avalible to me at every grocery store. I have never been able to drink socially because of my condition to alchohol. If I look at it wrong, my face turns red. I tryed taking 3, 10mg Pepicid Ac pills one hour before drinking. After one beer, which would usually turn me into a tomato I was perfectly fine. Pepcid Ac did the trick. Thank you to who ever figured/found this out. After my second beer I could feel myself getting bad. I looked in the mirror and found I was slightly red. I looked like I was just working out or holding my breath or something. Nothing nearly as bad as usual. I could not ask for a better result from Pepcide Ac. I am not going to be an alchoholic but I can now enjoy a social drink with friends and enjoy a glass of wine at special occasions. Its good reading other peoples stories. It is also interesting reading responses of people who do not have/ have never seen asian flush. With out a remedy, its not a "healthy glow" as I read earlier. Its simply impossible to have a drink.
