a message in my web journal about the Asian Blush, which quickly resulted in over 100 very-informative comments. This forum is intended to be an information source for those of us looking for information about why we turn red when we drink alcohol.

I found it on Ebay, but I got to buy it from the states... and buying drugs online is a bit dodgy. hmmm.... might have to give it a go anway!
Geez! i bought this Pepcid stuff over the counter in Spain!
is there is ANYONE who knows where I can get it in Australia without having to buy it in from the states??
I am and Aussie too - see my question and everyones answers on the Page 20 of this thread. They have been most helpful.
I am travelling to China, Croatia and Italy next month - so hopefully they have Pepcid there and I can stock up!!! I have tried Zantac which you can by over the counter. It is a different sort on drug - and it worked sorta okay for me. Only a little redness, but get drunk of less drinks.
I am keen to try Pepcid and will be searching Italy and Croatia for it!!!
Great to see a fellow aussie on this site!!
Can anyone answer these questions - I am about to travel to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Croatia for a holiday. I hope they sell Pepcid AC there because i will stock up.
Can anyone tell me if Pepcid AC is sold in Hong Kong, Shanghai or Croatia??????????
Thanks

For everyone who can't get Pepcid AC because they're not in the US, this may be a stupid question, but have you tried just getting famotidine or some other H2 blocker under some other proprietary name? I know in Australia they have Rani and Amfamox, both are famotidine brand names. There's literally nothing else in Pepcid AC (that's active). I'm sure there's something similiar sold in every country since they're so effective. I guess the main problem is that they're mostly by prescription only, but you're probably better off trying to get a doctor prescribe some to you than trying to get a stranger to send you some (which is illegal, and you really wouldn't get enough to last very long anyway). I know it sucks, but I can't think of a better way. . .
We can get Zantac (Ranitidine) over the counter but need prescriptions for the other H2 blockers. Famotidine in Aust is sold as "Pepcidine" but is prescription only...so off to the doctor( i will tell the doc i have a bad bad ulcer!!!)
Thanks to everyone for your advice. I tried Zantac before drinking on the weekend. It did work a fair bit - but i did get drunk easier than usual!!
I will seek out famotidine by whatever means possible!!!!

Like most people on this site - i go red after 1 drink and very red after say 3 drinks - especially if i drink quickly. But i find that after 5 drinks (and if i pace myself) the reddnesss goes away and i can continue drinking and there is not much reddness at all. So - the first say 2 hours i am red, the next 5 hours of drinking i am not red (but i admit by then i am very drunk).
Is anyone else effected like this?? ie. Red then not red????
Now that i am older - my redness affects me when i have to socialise for work - ie. go out to lunch with clients and drink a glass of red wine etc.
Hope to hear from fellow aussies and Red/Non Red people. Tell me your experiences please
