Has anyone tried eating and drinking at the same time? LIke what people with normal livers would do.....
It's just hard to go to a restaurant, order a drink, but not be able to drink it until youre finished the meal.
BTW when I went to Cuba this summer I took 1 20mg famotdine pill bout 30-60 mins before dinner, and then had drinks about 2 hours after and it was fine. Almost every night too!
take a road trip to Canada snuffy
Well I told my doc my situation and that I had read in forums that pepcid works, so he prescriped 20 pills that just say "GEN-FAMOTIDINE 20 MG" on the label.
Best part about this is the pills were free!
At home I experimented with 2 Zantac's (after a big meal).
Waited and just mixed some cheap cuban rum with fresh watermelon juice. Had 2 huge glasses with a decent amount of rum and felt fine. No redness, just slight pinkish hue nobody would notice.
But yeah I sort of felt lightheaded a while after drinking but could be psychological as you said.
I think drinks like rum and coke and other mixed drinks are fine.
At a party this summer I had maybe only 5 big shots of absolut and a beer and pukerama. No pink but the heartrate was racing......kinda got scared and after puking felt fine.
I'm gonna lay off of straight shots from now on.
I had one of those fruity apple martinis and had no effect....
But the thing is I still notice my heart rate increases and feel kinda nauseous
Well it's worked okay so far....the pepcid.
however, although I dont get red anymore, I do notice my heart rate increases.
Is it normal?
Most social functions have food involved, so I'd like to know the best way to take pepcid/zantac with a meal involved.
I've read the best is to:
-pop pills
-wait ~1 hour
-EAT, no drinks
-then drink
but how long should the wait be AFTER finished eating?
Hey Jasko,
How long did you wait after taking your pepcid to drink the pre-drink?
Update.
I took 2 Pepcid 10mg at 11 pm. Swallowed each one individually with a big glass of water. Waited an hour or so and drank about 1/4 of a bottle of this fruity Malibu 21% alcohol rum and feel fine so far. Don't seem to be getting red at all.
I stopped eating around 7-8ish.
I agree taking pills just to drink doesn't really make it worth it. But I'm 20 and don't want this stupid defect to ruin my social life...especially at this tender prime age. I mean, how would you explain it to your date??? You wouldnt be able to do anything fun with him/her..unless s/he suffered the same. lol
Snuffy wrote:I've tried experimenting more with the timing of eating and the Pepcid. I've found that taking the Pepcid AC first (2 * 20mg), wating 40-60 minutes and then eating works best for me. I've found that drinking at the same time as eating tends to bring on the redness. Drinking *after* the meal seems to maximize the effectiveness.
BTW, I'm still testing out the effect of consuming dairy before drinking, but I'll post to the new forum topic Eric created.
Oooo...Have you ever tried eating, then taking the pills, then waiting 40 minutes and then drink? Would the result be any better?
bump!
Anyway, Just bought a pack of regular Pepcid AC (10 mg)
After reading all 16 pages in the span of 2 days, I'd like to know some experiences of taking Pepcid after EATING.
Since most functions and parties and stuff usually have a meal involved and I'd like to know when I should be taking Pepcid if there's a meal invovled, like a cottage party or BBQ. stuff like that.
