anyone try this rewind hangover or noglo yet?
Everybody's body is different. You really just have to experiment yourself. Me, I hateeeee being the one declining drinks, but I've come to terms with just telling people I don't like to eat and drink. After dinner meals, I'll order a drink (and of course go to the bathroom and pop a pepcid chewable). Drink that slowly and I'm ok. What ever happened to Convivia? Grr.

Has anybody tried this? It's a website that claims to be able to cure the asian flush, just a scam though? Not really willing to dish out $37 to be told to use pepcid or something.
i unfortunately wasted my money on this. [content modified by moderator. do not offer to violate copyright, people!] It has some tips, but not $37 worth..
WhatsTheCure wrote:Hi,
I've been doing a lot of research on this. Now I didn't start getting a red face until my second year at college, thats when I started noticing it. So I started taking pepcid ac an it worked. I ran out one night but still never got a red face without the pepcid ac. I never got a red face for about a month, then it started again. Thats the short version. I've been trying pepcid ac again but it doesn't seem to work anymore. I'm still experimenting on times though.
Anyway, I've been doing a lot of research on this. An I found out that alcohol causes vasodialation. Which means the blood vessels become relaxed an expand. There are different foods/drinks and other things that trigger this.
Ok heres the important part. There are food/drinks that cause Vasoconstriction. Which is the opposite of vasodialation. Caffine is an example.
Anyway, tomorrow i'm going to buy coffee and energy drinks. The first night Ill try just coffee with alcohol. The next time ill try energy drinks with alcohol.
Ill post the results when Im done.
Any results?
^that's a lot of booze! Can you tell me how quickly or slowly you consumed your beers/wine? I feel that if I take the first few reallllllly slow, I feel the warmth and redness, and then it goes away and then I'm good to go. but mixing food into the equation for me has porcelain results!
medrinkulongtime wrote:anyboy know any types of alchol that doesnt cause redness? i usually try and drink light beers like coors light which taste like shit but that doesn really work...i sometimes find that hard drinks cause slightly less redness for some reason like jack daniels..
I find lite beers go easier on me as well as some hard liquors.. like clear liquors. Everyone's body is different though, so this may just work for you and not for someone else. I usually stick with Rum...... Captain Morgan. A little while ago I discovered they have Captain Morgan Silver, the clear one and not dark. I've been going with that lately and I find that that works better for me, vs the dark one.
I'm still trying to figure out how to be social with party circumstances..... food and drinks. Oh well. Hi everyone.
So I'm going to Las Vegas in a week. Ugh. Everyone's going to be eating and drinking. Any suggestions? lol
but I guess to make this not such a worthless post, like everyone's been stating, your first drink or two, drink slow!! although it sucks, it will help. Also, if I do turn pink or red, I feel that that lasts about anywhere from 20 - 60 minutes, then goes away, then I'm good to go. So, if you drink slow, start to pink, just accept it. Drink slow, and let it pass. Try to drink a lot of water before too so you can pee a lot.
haha, hurray for non-red sex! lol.
Keep us posted on your future experiences (with the Pepcid, not the sex!)
Thanks for posting. I'm hating my life more and more.
:(
Any definitive stories on anyone having cancer / dying from cancer due to alcohol intake over time.... with the flush?
schang1974 wrote:I've been taking 10mg of the chewable Pepcid for about 3 years now and it seems to do the trick. It is still slightly noticeable (particularly in my eyes which go a bit red) but it's definately not as red on my face compared to not taking it. I might try increasing the dosage to 20mg and see if that reduces it even more. It's become almost a habit now to make sure that I have some in my pocket before I go out. I don't tend to bother if I'm just drinking at home. Found this useful site which explains the problem and how to buy the solution: http://asian-flush.net/
How long does that one 10mg chewable last you and how long before you drink do you usually take it before your drink?
I use the pill form of the Pepcid and sometimes I find myself in the predicament of being out then going out for drinks later on. I was wondering if the chewable acts any faster than the pill form?
Thanks in advance.
^Interesting. I've never tried Zantac.... maybe I'll give it a whirl sometime.
For those of you that keep up with this thread...... to keep it semi active, let me ask you this. How do you guys handle situations where you're not prepared to drink. IE: you haven't taken your Pepcid or Zantac or whatever you take.
What do you do in a social situation like that where everyone wants you to drink, or everyone is drinking having a grand time?
Do you take the splurge and have a drink? Do you resist? What happens? How do you handle it?
^I hear you. I'm embarrassed to even go out. I've just gotten accustomed to telling people that I don't drink, even though I do love being drunk. It bothers me so much when coworkers / friends go out for a drink...... A drink, and I decline because of this condition. ugh.
Anyway, ever since those articles surfaced about the risks of throat cancer and such, I've been really weary of drinking and have practically stayed away from it entirely.
Anyone have any excuses that work well in social situations when getting pressured to have a drink? lol.
I'm only 24. :(
As always, Convivia needs to hurrrrrrrry.
someone call Raptor and find out what's the deal with Convivia! :(
Man, that makes me not want to drink at all. :(
I wonder how Convivia will work then?
ps- am I the only one that keeps getting errors when trying to post on here?
Will do, I really hope that this gets approved.
Yes they are. It's called Convivia. I believe there's a thread on it somewhere on this forum.
I'm wondering if this Convivia is going to be a pill or what? I was hoping they could make some sort of injection for us that will last a while haha.
I'm still waiting on Convivia. What's the deal on this? I wish there were a number that we could contact the Raptor company and see what's going on.

I am so glad I've found this forum, and I've actually tried reading every single posts, but it took me 2 days to get to page 27, so I stopped. =P
I'm a 24 year old female of 100% asian decent, and I've been drinking socially for a few years now, but I usually have to keep the drinking down because I turn beet red around the second or third shot. I'm very happy to have found about this "miracle cure" for this, and I am excited to try it out ASAP. =D
I was also very shocked to find out that the "fast heartbeating" was caused by the asian flush, I always thought that it was normal and that everybody experienced it. I know it might sound weird, but I actually enjoy the fast heartbeat, maybe because I associate it with drinking.
But anyway! My point is, I really want to try the Pepcid before drinking, and the question I wanted to ask was, does anybody living in the US know generic brands of Pepcid? I know that Walmart usually carry an "Equate" brand of every single medicine, do they happen to have one for Pepcid, and would it be just as effective?
Thanks so much for the help, and I am super excited to go test this out. =)
I don't know of any generic brands..... but just look at what the store has in that area and get the one that has the most Famotidine.
Yeah me too, Momo. The only hope I see, right now, is the Convivia.... and I don't even know if that's a pill we take before drinking or what. :(
Yah, I mean.. absolutely I know not to chew up pills that are meant to be swallowed.... but they do sell Chewable Pepcid AC Max Strengths...... and I was wondering if anyone had experience with them.
With what you said, I would think that they would act faster as well..... but would that make them wear off quicker also is another thing I'd like to know. Anyone?
Awesome summary, good job!
I still wish someone could answer my question in regards to Chewables vs Pills.
Do the chewables act quicker / more effectively due to it being chewed/broken up, as opposed to our bodies breaking the pills down? Any info would help, thanks guys.
Asian123: There is no bright side to the Asian Flush.... just our faces. BRIGHT RED.
I hate the flush. UGH. I seriously cannot live a regular social life with my friends because of it. I wish I could get a liver transplant or something. haha.
Convivia needs to HURRY.
Yah, I'm anxiously waiting for that. Hope they have it sometime soon.
Hmm. Is there any way you can do like, a controlled experiment. Like drink by yourself or with friends to see how it works by itself? It might not have worked due to you mixing Pepcid with it.
I'd like to hear results of Sobrietol by itself..
