a message in my web journal about the Asian Blush, which quickly resulted in over 100 very-informative comments. This forum is intended to be an information source for those of us looking for information about why we turn red when we drink alcohol.

THanks for the reply Steph. I really only want some help getting through a beer or two every couple of weeks, hopefully Pepcid Ac will help me that much. Good luck to you all!
Right, one more question: If H2 blockers do in fact help our symptoms to allow certain people, like me, to drink more than one drink, could this eventually help us build up our tolerance in our body enough that we can ween ourselves off H2? I don't know if this makes any sense, but for some people it may not be asian flush, it could be just low alcohol tolerance that they need to build up on. Or are we doomed to have to take H2 everytime before we drink for the rest of our lives?
Hi everybody. I've been reading up a lot on these posts for the last few days and it's good to know it the whole Pepcid AC thing really does help a lot of people. Unfortunately there seem to be some exception to the case. I haven't tried it yet but I'm eager and anxious to. My symptoms include turning beet red, getting the chills, occasionally get small headaches, and I would be chilly but my body gives off extreme heat. The most irritating of all though is that my heart beats unbelievably fast. I can deal with the redness and the heat but the heart beating nearly give me panic attacks.
Quick question for anyone out there, is there a difference between drinking beer/wine and other hard liquor such as tequila or vodka? I usually get red after 3/4 of a beer or barely one glass of wine. But when I drink Aleze, and ONLY Aleze I can down around three and I can still handle it.
Anyway, I'm sincerely hoping it will help me, even just a little... the inability to drink (in my case, at all) is extremely bad for my social life. I'm sure you all understand. Any replies would be appreciated, thank you.
