i tried the pepcid thing and i dont think it worked for me........but i didnt really stick it out after the first drink because the flush still came over and i started getting the headache.......

so i was wondering if people could tell me if the tablets worked straight away, ie have no symptoms from the first sip or if it took a while to kick in, ie after a couple of drinks the flush would disappear.

i'l really appreciate your help.

right, i tried gavilast tablets which is ranitidine 75mg and it didint work for me. i had english breakfast with toast and butter around 11 and didnt eat anything for the rest of the day apart from a starbucks frap at 2.00 ish

i took 2 tablets around 7.30 waiting for 1hr before drinking. didnt work cos my face turned the usual red, heartbeat quickened and rather uncomfortable. maybe i need to get over the first drink but it was very hard to cary on with the symptoms

im gonna try pepcid chewables which is the famatidine version and see how that goes. maybe like echeng says, i shouldnt of had the dairy (on toast and in the coffee) but i thought maybe it would had digested by then.....

thanks steph.

I tried it again las night but it did not help at all. I had the same symptoms of asian flush and felt very very ill and this was only after the first drink!

might try pepcid to see if there is any difference.

thanks for all the help and info guys. Keep them coming. we can combat this problem!

um, just another general question, im experimenting with ranitidine - gavilast -p 75mg and i have found that my face has reduced in redness (woo hoo!) but i was wondering if people actually get drunk after a few drinks.

i'v never been drunk because i'v always thrown up before anything happens so does the tablets actually let people get drunk?

I tried 1 tablet and started drinking about 1 hr after. but i fell asleep! not a good start! the same symptoms came up but less severe so i guess it has helped alot.
