Jan 11, 2005: On December 3, 2003, I posted
a message in my web journal about the Asian Blush, which quickly resulted in over 100 very-informative comments. This forum is intended to be an information source for those of us looking for information about why we turn red when we drink alcohol.

Hi, I would like to put this into a topic thread for people to be aware and discuss if there's any beneficial use of synthetic biology towards asian flush!
I watched this bbc documentary that was aired recently and it was fascinating viewing to know what is being achieved today in the world of synthetic biology. What caught my attention was the capability of using DNA parts (building blocks) to create your own DNA strands. This is open-source and can be used by anyone to learn and create their own strands. The website 'Registry of Standard Biological Parts' allows you to get started and order these building blocks online.

Please watch the programme as it explains what can be done and who is using it today. (Hopefully, people outside of the UK can view this video otherwise you may have to search for an alternative method. Copy and paste the links into your browser.)
