a message in my web journal about the Asian Blush, which quickly resulted in over 100 very-informative comments. This forum is intended to be an information source for those of us looking for information about why we turn red when we drink alcohol.

This is just ridiculous nothing seems to be happening with the Convivia program this whole year, the dissapointments continue
That link goes to nothing??
After 3 emails i got a reply, Ted Daley(president) told me that they are currently looking to further studies in Asia, but it's proving hard as people see Convivia as the reason why alcoholism is so much smaller in Asian countries than the rest of the world. I find this stupid not everyone wants to go out and get smashed we just want a cure so we can go out and enjoy ourselves without worrying.
Yet raptor have been looking for a research company over in asia to come onboard for this whole year with no offers??
4-methylpyrazole is used for the treatment of methanol poisoning so don't think it is readily available :)
I emailed Ted Daley head of Raptor Pharma to see if there was any new updates on Convivia, they have done a small trial in Hawaii last year with promising results but are not going to further there testing in the US. They are currently looking for a partner in asia to further there trials but he said that at the start of the year too, so nothing has happened this year which is unfortunate. What i don't understand is why something that effects around 50 millon people is not being pushed as there is a huge money market for this product?? I just want to go out and enjoy myself like everybody else :(
This is an email i recieved regarding Convivia from Ted Daley - Raptorpharma
Thank you for your inquiry. Convivia is a clinical-stage product candidate, not yet approved for marketing in any country. In 2008, Raptor conducted a clinical study in Hawaii in subjects of Japanese descent. Additional clinical studies will be required, and we plan to focus our further clinical development and eventual commercialization efforts in Asian countries. We have no specific timelines for marketing in any country at this time.
1 shot? and what if you have more alcohol? what sort of time period do the pills last for??

Convivia is only in stage 2a. it still has to go through phase 2b refined formula and phase 3 final formulation before it goes up in front of the medical board to see if it will get passed. i have sent many an email to raptorpharma asking about progress but never get a reply. Last i heard was in November of last year and they were seeking partners in asia for the next phase. Im thinking maybe the global recession is slowing down such programs, but am forever hopeful that it may surface in a couple of years.
you guys are lucky pepcid works for you, nothing at all works for me :( im a white caucasian male 19 years old my life is sorrounded by drinking. I have hope for convivia but im thinking the recession is slowing things down for funding.
it's so hard to live a normal life haha
