Redwood trees are the tallest trees in the world, and can live for thousands of years. This particular species of redwood trees are only found in the coastal regions of Northern California and in Oregon near the California border. I read an excellent book called “The Wild Trees: A Story of Passion and Daring” by Richard Preston that tells the story of the adventurers and scientists who discovered the largest redwoods and study the rich ecosystem in the redwood canopy. I highly recommend the read.
