I spent part of the day hanging out at 16th Street Station in Oakland with a few mapping people from Autodesk, 3DR, Leica, and others, and it was a great opportunity to capture some mapping source data using a DJI Inspire 1 and prototype DJI Zenmuse X5 Micro Four Thirds camera.
In typical fashion, I shot in both nadir and oblique (see the image, above), and ran the 188 source images through Pix4DMapper Pro. The model has not been cleaned up at all, and because many of the oblique images included elements that were very far away, including sky, there are some strange artifacts in the model. An overlay shows the source images and where they were taken from.
Sorry about the weird turns. I can’t seem to get Pix4DMapper to always turn in the correct direction when scripting renders.
