I flew Salvation Mountain yesterday, and it was really amazing. A mountain of paint, love, and the sweat of countless volunteer-hours blazes in colorful glory in the middle of a drab ocean of dust. I highly recommend a visit. Also, Slab City is right behind Salvation Mountain, and everyone we met there was super friendly. I wish we had planned for an extra day or two to explore, hang out, and hear stories from some of the folks who have given up mainstream life to go off the grid.
