DJI gave me an evaluation Phantom 2 Vision, and I absolutely love the new cartridge-style battery system and props with integrated nut. The battery is a 5200 mAH 3S battery, which is 2.36x greater in capacity than the old Phantom’s battery capacity. This thing will fly for 25 minutes straight, even with the weight of its integrated camera.
Here’s a video of battery removal and installation, and the fastest quadcopter propeller installation you’ve ever seen.
DJI is challenging assumptions that have been standardized by the RC hobby for no reason, and I’m hopeful that it will drive the whole industry to think before pushing forward! I hope that every company that sells a flying multirotor switches to cartridge-style batteries and motors that spin props tighter when flying.
