Tiger Beach, Bahamas

We hadn't originally planned on going to tiger beach on this trip, but after a week of fruitless exploration (after finding the oceanic white-tips, I mean), we decided to spend the last day at a sure thing.

This week, Tiger Beach was full of smaller tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier). We saw five individuals, including two really small (and cute!!) tigers, "Mini-T" and "Begonia". The little ones were unabashedly curious and spent a lot of time right in front of our dome ports, but the larger sharks weren't as cooperative and stayed off in the distance.

A new wrangling technique is producing some fantastic lemon shark (Negaprion brevirostris) images at the surface. I can't wait to go back to spend more time refining the technique!

the sound of shark jaws snapping shut is always a fun thing to hear!

Excellent feeding shots here. You can see the shark's gingivitis. I want to hear how you got them. Chika when you're back (which is when?)?

The dolphin looks like a mahimahi.

Excellent photos...what a rare and wonderful experience. Oceanic's are still the most alluring shark, for me anyway.

I stumbled upon your site and am quite pleased I did. Keep up the good work!

Cheers

I am truly inspired by what I've seen so far; by your profession and passion. Don't want to spoil the image I have so save the "crappy" stuff ok? Just kidding. Keep up with the inspiring work and expedition pls.

Yes it is, we had some funny coincidences last week on the boat and dive show "Boot" in Düsseldorf, too.
