Watanabe

-- Spoilsport, Friday, January 3, 2003 --

Dive #10, #11 - Watanabe, Flinder's Reef (with Mia, Norm and Teri, respectively)

Watanabe is a pinnacle that extends from the ocean floor 60 meters below to a small coral head 15 meters below the surface. One side of the pinnacle is barren and littered with dead coral. The other side features large yellow gorgonian fans and long sea whips. On top, a small school of trevalli swam around. There wasn't too much to see here, but the water was extraordinarily clear, with no current. We all had a lot of fun playing around in the clear waters. A fair-sized tuna was also swimming around, looking mean with some chunks torn out of its side.
