A Superficial Canon 1Ds, 1D, and D60 Comparison

Comparison 3: Darth Maul, Frame-Filling [back to index] [prev] [next]

Each of the three cameras were positioned on tripods such that Darth Maul's head and shoulders roughly filled the frame. An overhead light was used, and a red reflector was positioned under Mr. Maul's body. This accounts for the change in lighting you see below: as we moved the camera closer for the 1D's shot -- and even closer for the 1Ds' shot -- the lens hood blocked some of the reflected light. Also note that the 1D's focus may have been *slightly* off.

Shots were fired in RAW mode and were converted using Adobe's RAW plugin using default (as-shot) parameters.
