Posted at 05:06 PM PST: "Tomales Point, Sandra Cisneros, Sophie's Party"
Full day yesterday! In the morning, Wendy, Lilli and I drove up to Point Reyes to hike the Tomales Point trail (just over 7 miles), which is supposedly the best place in Northern California to see wildlife. We did see a few herds of elk (complete with protective large alpha male), numerous raptors, and half of a dead bunny rabbit. Unfortunately, all of the vegetation was dried and dead, but I imagine that it would have been beautiful in the late Spring.

When we returned from the hike, we rushed over to a Sandra Cisneros reading. She was very funny (made us all laugh, often) and shared honest and insightful ideas on how the creative process works (for her). I felt like I should be taking notes. She was really cool.

After the reading, we sped down to Fremont to Sophie and Christie's halloween party, where I received useful comments like: "nice costume. are you dressed as a normal person?" It turned out that there were numerous people there from Torrey Pines High School: Scott Lin (we were in freshman Spanish together), Jay, uh... another guy whose name I forgot, and both my sister and me. Small world. :) I talked to a guy named Jimmy, who reminded me of a smaller Adam Tow (in mannerisms and look only). Sophie has a good set of friends there, and they all seem fun and supportive. It was a little strange, though: nearly everyone I talked to was Taiwanese. :)
