I’m giving a talk tomorrow night (Wednesday, April 27, 2011) at the Palo Alto Camera Club about underwater photography. I’ll show some of my favorite images and talk about how I captured them. I hope to see you there!

Last month, I went to a local bánh mì place for lunch and spotted a guy standing outside, burning his shirt on the sidewalk. He kept holding his hands out over the flames, like he was warming himself up. It was in the 50s outside, and most people around walked by him like everything was normal (but putting a few more feet between). I love SF!

The video is a little shaky because I was hit with an adrenaline rush when I walked close to him. I’m always on guard when I’m close to crazies.

GoPro 3D Hero housing with two GoPro HD HERO cameras installed

A few days ago, GoPro announced the GoPro 3D HERO System, the world’s smallest 1080p 3D camera. The 3D Hero System consists of a housing that accepts and aligns two GoPro HD HERO cameras for 3D capture, and GoPro CineForm Studio software, which is available as a free download on GoPro’s website.

GoPro sent me a 3D HERO to test, and it arrived today. Full review over at Noodletron.

The Barber Lounge hosted its 4th anniversary party tonight, an art show opening featuring works by local artists. 9 of my aluminum prints are hanging in the hair-washing nook (that felt strange to type). The prints will be there until July 5, so if you missed the party tonight, you can still walk in and see them when you have time (and, maybe, get a haircut).
