Andrew - Tony and I were unable to book Dominica this year with you guys after 9 months of emailing back and forth. The permit process in Dominica is a MESS. I hope you guys are able to ensure that only one permit is given out at a time in order to protect your incredible local resource and so it isn't total chaos on the water for those of us on permit. I hope to be back there one day, but until this is solved, it seems unlikely!

If you thinking of coming to Dominica to dive, give me a shout. Tony and Eric should be down next season if the whales are your thing.

Peter -- we had 13 (at once) today. And yes, there were tiny squid bits in the mix.

We also discovered that the squid found here are almost definitely not Architeuthis.

For the record, I spoke to multiple people before deciding to go to Dominica. Howard Hall sent me Dominica sperm whale photos from 15 years ago, so coming here is not exactly something unique or new. My trip had nearly nothing to do with listening to you, although I do think that you have done a great job of getting images of Scar out there.

Eric;

Glad you listened to me about Dominica. Looks like you are having an incredible trip. 11 whales at once and a large male, aroused juveniles. Not sure what you can see next that will what you saw so far. Maybe tossing squid among them?

Scuba is good there probably best in the Caribbean. You should also tour the island if you have time, the waterfalls are great.

Agree with Jeff's assessment of the restaurants, we really liked the creole place, especially their rum punch.

Enjoy the trip.
