Firefox 3.5RC2 stops loading pages after awhile

I’ve recently started having a problem with Firefox 3.5RC2 (on Mac OS 10.5.7): it hangs and stops loading pages after awhile. Sometimes, it’s after an hour, and sometimes, it’s after 2 minutes. What’s strange is that I can then launch Safari and access any page, and then Firefox will resume loading pages.
I’ve disabled all my add-ons, and it hasn’t resolved the problem. The next step for debugging will be to trash ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox and start a completely new profile.
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090616 Firefox/3.5
I have the same issue with some of Google’s services and in the case of the others they don’t even load, including You Tube.
However, I’m using the 3.5 final on XP and on CNN’s site it doesn’t fully load and on BBC’s site it doesn’t load all the images.
But when I downgrade to 3.0.11 it all goes fine.
Same here. I’m not on Mac but Windows Vista :-( Very annoying Some pages will load but a lot wont
I too am having this issue in vista x64 Home premium.
I just happened to have this problem occur to me, what are the values of
network.http.max-connections network.http.max-connections-per-server network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server
I had mine set way high and just lowered back to a conservative value.
Has anyone found a solution?
This problem is posted all over the web and not a single answer. Seems like FireFox is going the way of Microsoft by not even acknowledging the problem much less fixing it.
I think it may have had to do with Jack’s suggestion — the number of connections per server, and/or pipelining. Mine has all been reset to default, and it seems to work now.
Also, I’m on the main 3.5 build…
Jack’s fix worked for me- I just reset those values to default. FF 3.5.4
same problem here, however i have those values jack suggested already at defaults :/
