I can't use a standard vent mount because the lower surface where it touches the car will rub away paint and varnish. But ProClipUSA's vent mount looks like it won't rub and scratch...

Hi Eric,

I'm using a vent mount for my Sony Ericsson P1 in my car. Like this one:

http://store.everythingicafe.com/igrip-universal-fit-vent-mount/3A78A1743.htm

For me it works perfectly because I'm not using the middle vents very much and they're at the lowest level every time. As well they are in a good height to watch the navigation system, play mp3s, etc...

Also I can "clip" the phone into the mount and it gets automatically connected to the free speach system.

Have fun. :-)

Regards,
Tobias

Hey, Jeff. I've seen that company's stuff before. Looks like the right solution.

I don't have an iPhone yet, but I love this clip for my iPod:

http://www.proclipusa.com

You buy a mount for the car and a second for the phone/pda and it works great. When I upgrade to iPhone I can just swap out the top half, although my 60GB iPod is filled so I'll probably stick with that in the car.
