Trends in spam calling

I noticed something interesting today. On March 4, 2008, I posted a message about repeated spam calls to my mobile phone from 562-228-7160 (a problem many people were having). Google picked up my entry on March 5th, because the hits started coming in. By March 7th, my journal post on the subject had been hit over 3,300 times.
On March 8th, the hits stopped, but my post was still on the first page of teh Google’s search results. This probably means that “Great Atlantic Warranty,” the spammers behind the calls, changed their originating caller ID number.
I hope everyone filed a complaint to the FCC and the company was nailed for a huge fine.
Anyway, here are keyword stats for March 5-7, if you’re interested in this sort of thing.

I had a cell phone for less than a week and got hit by that number 3 times !
I get lots of non spam calls for the previous owner of the cell phone number too .. all automated and all shockingly hard to tell them they have the wrong number !
