It’s getting crazy down in Antarctica.

JAPANESE OPEN FIRE ON SEA SHEPHERD CREW: THREE INJURED Captain Paul Watson Shot in Chest; Cameraman and Crewmember Injured by Flash Grenades At 1545 hours (0445 GMT), a clash between the crew of the Sea Shepherd vessel Steve Irwin and the Japanese whaling ship Nisshin Maru turned violent when the Japanese Coast Guard began to throw flash grenades at the crew of the Steve Irwin. Captain Paul Watson was struck by a bullet in the chest. Fortunately, the bullet was stopped by his Kevlar vest. The bullet struck just above the heart and mangled Captain Watson’s anti-poaching badge, which was worn on his sweater underneath the Kevlar vest.

Articles are already out everywhere, but I’ve posted the full Sea Shepherd press release over at Wetpixel.

Come on Eric, your not stupid enough to fall for the lies I tell are you. Did you look at the video of the “shooting”. The ships were close enough that the Japanese could throw Flash Grenades and hit the Steve Irwin. At that range and with the size of the bullet they pulled out of my Kevlar vest if I had really been shot I would have been knocked on my ass and most likely had a couple ribs broke. The vest stops the bullet from entering the body but the force of the bullet is still transferred to the person wearing the vest. All the energy from the bullet has to go somewhere and that was a very large bullet at short range and would have had a lot of force behind it.

If you still believe everything I say what do you think about the “Hostage” situation that happened on the same voyage. I sent two crew members over to the Japanese vessel and when they went aboard I took off as fast as I could so the Japanese could not return them. Then I told every news agency that would listen that the crew members had been taken hostage. If you don’t believe me just read what my first officer on that voyage, Peter Brown, had to say about the incident.

“Though the incident began when someone from a Japanese whaling vessel allegedly shot Paul Watson, the Sea Shepherd’s controversial founder, it only became a “hostage” situation, Brown admits, when he turned the Steve Irwin around and left the scene so the Japanese would be forced to hold the two crewmen longer.

“It’s all giant street theater,” Brown said.”

You can read all of Browns interview here.

Don’t believe everything I saw Eric. If fact it might be prudent not to believe anything I say.
