Head on around from Waimea towards Sunset, take a right up the hill, seems like you turn by a grocery store, but i'm probably wrong. Then once you get part way up the hill you take a right, drive past some stripped down vehicles, and you're at
Pu'u O Mahuka Heiau
It's real nice at sunset, and you can walk to the far end of it, go through some jungle and there's a nice view of Waimea from up above. I think there's even a convenient telephone pole to be cropped out of the shot.
If the Eddie happens while you're there, get there at sunrise or earlier to get a parking spot. Then be out ready to shoot at sunrise. Great light, and everyone goes out for warmups, lots of action. After that, for the rest of the day they send them out 4 at a time, so less action but more and more people.

I only left those in there because of an Aperture export bug I was trying to figure out. Normally, I keep this kind of metadata to myself. :)

I especially like the telephone pole in the left side of the shot.
