Adam Nash on ValleyWag

My buddy Adam Nash made it onto ValleyWag in the form of a video announcing news from LinkedIn (where he is Senior Director of Products). As is typical when you make it onto popular websites, Adam gets picked on a bit… but who cares? He’s on the site, and we’re not.
I stopped by Nash’s place over the weekend on my way back up from judging the NCUPS Sea 2007 underwater photo competition in Monterey. It was great to see the Nash babies, and as usual I tolerated the mutant beagles’ constant poking around for food. I see that they (the beagles) have lost some weight, which means that they are now only 2.5x the weight of a normal beagle. :)
Oh yeah, my favorite comment from the ValleyWag page is the first one. “Haven’t I seen that mustache in a Ben Stiller movie?” HAHAHA
I think I’ve only met Adam once years ago, but he’s mighty intimidating with the handlebar moustache. He’s got that James Hetfield (Metallica) crazy look. Like he might kick your ass if you didn’t think the new APIs made sense. Actually, he did a really nice job of presenting the concepts, so he should be proud ValleyWag even chose to feature him. Congrats to Adam for even being mildly razz-worthy.
I wrestled Adam once in a judo class. He kept bench-pressing me, and then I would kick out his legs. We continued like that for awhile — technique vs brawn. Finally, the old Japanese guy came over and pinned Adam with one arm. It was awesome.
But I’ll bet a mad Adam would be fun to watch. I’ve never seen him really mad.
I just want to state, for the record, three things:
1) I do not have a handlebar mustache. It’s a goatee (or a Vandyck, to be anal about it). It’s just that the bottom is graying a bit, so it doesn’t show in the grainy video.
2) The old Japanese guy did not pin me with one arm. He used two. I think he was angry at me for bench pressing Eric off of me, because it wasn’t the correct technique.
3) Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry. :)

Oh yeah, almost forgot: Dave, I remember you are the great glass blower. Very envious, as it’s one of the crafts that I’ve always wanted to take time to learn. Really beautiful stuff.
