A few weekends ago, I flew out to Milwaukee to participate in Mandy and Elliot’s wedding (insert 9 years of dating joke here). I’m getting used to regular reunions with the gang from Durand House (quite a few of weddings in the past few years!); luckily, there are still a few of us who are unmarried, so future events will surely occur.

The wedding was great fun, and I was honored to be part of the wedding party. I miss being a daily participant in Mandy and Elliot’s lives — but events like this are great, visceral reminders that we are friends for life.

Early the next morning, I grabbed my bags and headed for the airport for flights to Los Angeles, Brisbane, and the Solomon Islands. I am not a fan of flying to the mid-west in order to fly back to the Solomon Islands two mornings later, but it was well worth it. :)
