Spam filter augmentation proposal (Computers)

I was thinking of augmenting my spam filter to also reject:
- messages that don’t use punctuation
- messages that include questions with periods at the end
- messages in ALL CAPS
- messages with a question mark to 80-character-line ratio >= 1
- messages containing “u”, “u r”, “ur”, or “lol“
That would be awesome.
I LUV UR SITE LOL ????????????????????????????????????????.
i do all of the things u listed. i call it “oplish” (optimal english)
but i never “lol” or “lmao” and prefer the :-) instead.
hey, al. i know you do. :) but does “optimal” take into account the impression you give to your recipient? if you save 1 second while typing, but cause your recipient to cringe, is it worth it?
it’s like talking too fast — one’s mouth finishes moving earlier, but it doesn’t mean that the message is delivered more efficiently.
How do it know if the sentence is a question.
ROFLCOPTERS, lmao u r teh suck, Eric. learn2communicate!
Heh, sorry, had to get it out of my system. As a recovering World of Warcraft addict, and having trolled the WoW forums way too much, I think my brain is permanently scarred by how much written communication has degenerated on the interweb. I support your intentions (if not your stick > carrot approach - but then again, I’m a pinko liberal).
carrot on a stick? +3% mount speed?
oh man I just said too much. :(
good thing you don’t filter on proper capitalization. :)
