Geoff, Livia, Baby Jack and I drove down to Los Angeles last weekend to attend Cindy and Pete’s wedding, which took place at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

The after-party was in a private area at The Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel, which was quite the L.A. scene. As we stepped out of the elevator, we saw Luke and Owen Wilson at the bar (Livia pretty much freaked out). In the back room, an assortment of drinks and mixers were already on the table — the perfect complement to the delicious dessert platters that came out a bit later.

I only knew a few people at the wedding, but it was great fun, and I’m glad I went. I also got to spend time with Sarah Kemble and my sister, Wendy (we ate yummy food, as usual).

As someone who grew up in San Diego, I’ve always disliked Los Angeles for its traffic, smog, and purported West-L.A. superficiality. But for some reason, I like it more and more each time I go there. There are so many different areas to explore…
