Bahamas shark video - the short version

Just over a year ago, I posted the results of my first time with a video camera underwater. While in the Bahamas, I took footage of tiger sharks, great hammerhead sharks, lemon sharks, bull sharks, oceanic blacktip sharks, and Caribbean reef sharks.
I gave a talk on big animals at the 53rd Boston Sea Rovers Clinic last month, which became the perfect excuse to edit down all of that video footage into a 2:25 montage. Enjoy! :)
superb!
Wow, you did a good job on that video! Thanks for posting it. :) ~G
Man… watching their eyes when they hit your housing is freaky. Beautiful work!
You must have an awesome lens. :)
Nice video. BTW, that first link (http://echeng.com/journal/2006/03/20/more-tiger-shark-videos-bahamas/) returns a 404.
Well, at least we know what fully justified comments look like now…
Steve - links works for me!
Fully justified, indeed. :)
Hmm…the link doesn’t work for me either, plus it doesn’t show up when I search your site for “tiger shark videos”. From that search I found your original post (http://echeng.com/journal/2006/03/14/tiger-shark-video-bahamas/) where you mentioned this link, and it doesn’t work from there either. It also doesn’t work in IE, though I found it interesting that Steve’s comment wasn’t justified there (the URL fits on the first line).
Oops, blind I am; the URL breaks at a hyphen.
Hey, no play again feature with this program?
Took how long to download and now i can’t watch it!!!! Grrrr
I liked the youtube better… ;)
this is amazing, E. love the music - gives it this “these are creatures to be reckoned with / to be in awe of” feel. my favorite footage is that slo-mo bit where you peek up above water and then go back down (~1:52).
and the clarity! oh the clarity!
hahaha, i was physically cringing in my chair when the sharks were bumping up against your camera!
First link doesn’t work for me either. When looking at archives for March ‘06, it goes directly from March 14 - “Tiger shark video, Bahamas” to March 22 - “Curl enhancing lotion”. Any entries for March 20 don’t show for me :( Maybe you have some super sekret mega-l33tt entry there that isn’t public/published?
Anyhew, vid quality is great from veoh and of course the video itself is kickass ;) That water would be yellow and brown colored if it was me shooting though…
@Mike V - I was able to watch it again by clicking on the “close” tab in the lower-left corner of the video display after it ran through once (it toggles between that and “options”). Not exactly intuitive on veoh’s part, but seems to work.
