I’m so uneven

I went out bowling with Lynn tonight (@ Presidio Bowl). My scores were: 99, 104 and 182 (!!). How’s that for unevenness?? Part of the problem was that I used a 15-lb ball for much of the first couple of games. Switching to a 12-lb ball made a huge difference.

I’m too embarrassed to post this photo on the front page because it was taken with a camera phone. ;)
How often do you go bowling? Consistency is probably the biggest challenge in bowling (or any sport) anyway. Most people don’t realize this, but bowling is all about the approach - the steps you take, where you put your weight, and how your arms are timed with your feet.
I miss Presidio… I haven’t seen those guys in over a year. Who was working the desk when you went? :)
Having a ball drilled to fit your hand so that you don’t actually have to grip the ball helps too. (Another common misconception about bowling is that you’re supposed to actually grip and then throw the ball. You’re actually not supposed to exert more than a minor amount of effort in keeping the ball in your hands, and as for throwing it, well you don’t actually throw it, you just let it go!)
By the way, nice job on the 182. ;)
I hadn’t bowled for about … 4.5 years. I used to go a few times a year, but that stopped a long time ago. I didn’t actually meet the guys at the desk. There were two of then, and they were very nice but seemed bored.
Last couple times I bowled: with opera singers, 2002 (where I claim i’m consistent), and again, with opera singers, 2002,
What? No fisheye pics of your balls? Bowling i mean… :)
