On Thursday, I made my annual visit to Macworld with Victor A. and Adam Tow (Nash couldn’t make it on the same day this year). Aside from the two iPhones sitting in display cases, there wasn’t much to see. Apple TV was sort of interesting, but there was no good content on the demo units, and I lost interest quickly (there was only the highly-compressed, relatively low-res content from iTunes).

I spent a lot of time in the Canon booth hanging out with Tammy Loh, who was in her full Canon getup. I brought a USB stick full of images back to their booth on Friday, and Ed and Kirk (printer folks at Canon) let me print three 42″x63″ prints on the 44″-carriage imagePROGRAF iPF8000 large-format printer. It cranked out each image in something like 10 minutes, which was very impressive, and because the prints were so big we rolled them up and left them sitting on the ground around us. At one point, I turned my back to a print for a few moments and someone quickly grabbed it and walked off quickly (!). WTF?! Luckily, I was able to catch up to him to reclaim the print. He had a big bag of stuff I’m sure he stole from other booths.
