I was having the same issue, all of a sudden itunes was detecting my ipod in recovery mode. turned out a new driver was installed and it just so happened to use the same drive letter that was designated for my ipod. i reassinged the drive letter for the new driver, and it works perfectly now! no need to restore my ipod or anything. thank goodness, as i would've lost a lot of songs.</p> kieren is a lifesaver!
