How auspicious that my night-blooming cereus (which was started by a cutting from huge plants we have at home in San Diego) decided to bloom on the ONE EVENING I’m home this month. I arrived home last night from the Bahamas and leave tomorrow afternoon for South Africa.
The fragrance is intoxicatingly lovely. I wish I could bottle it up and share it with all of my friends. I also wish I was done with everything on my TO DO list so I could go to sleep.

It is great that you got to catch the blooming and smell the fragrance. It was a nice welcome-home greeting from your plant.

what beatiful flowers! I have a question; Do you have any tips on how to encourage blooming? I have a plant for 20 years now and have yet gotten a flower. I live in wisconsin and wonder if our climat just isn’t condusive to the plant setting buds, although the women that I got the cutting from has gotten flowers here in wisconsin. Any advice would be appreciated JIM
