Football Dunce

Hey! Can someone verify that the Superbowl will be broadcast in HD on Comcast’s FOX Channel 702 here in the Bay Area?

There is all sorts of speculation about whether the broadcast will be in HD through Comcast (in addition to the Superbowl’s free, over-the-air, HD broadcast). I did find it in Comcast’s program guide, but I want to make sure that I don’t disappoint my friends when they come over. :)

I’m having a Superbowl get-together, and I don’t even know who will be playing. There was talk about reading [classical] music before-hand, to which Vienna replied, “this might be the strangest Superbowl party I’ve ever been to.” Unfortunately, poor Livia has to play in a concert during the Superbowl. That’s super lame.

    eagles v. pats.
both east coast teams. so i guess you can get off your dunce chair now?

i feel for your friend. i may be stuck in rehearsal. this year might be the first time since i started college that i didn’t get to enjoy the superbowl. [tear]. i think it’s more about the getting together than the actual game. for me anyways. my excitement for the ‘bowl ended when the jets lost; and i root for the pats b/c my bf is a hard core new england fan (red sox, patriots).

Hey there. So here is the scoop.

First the annoucement of the KTVU channel being added to Comcast on Ch 702:

    http://www.ktvu.com/news/4133387/detail.html

and the resulting outpouring of sheer emotion from local HDTV nerds:

So my understanding is if you are already recieving a signal on channel 702 you should be all set to receive the game.

It will be broadcast in 720p so your display could not be a better match to show ‘the big game’.

its not really football though is it .. it’s more like handball.
You know in the 1980′s english football could have done with a musical recitalbefore the big game ..maybe there would be such a bad houdlum aspect related to the game if only the fans had taken up classical music recitals and wine tasting instead of heavy metal and beer guzzling … wait a second i guzzle beer and like rock music … damn it i must be a houdlum ;)

Victor – “outpouring of sheer emotion” hahaaha. that is a perfect description. :)

That’s okay…I didn’t know the Superbowl WASN’T last Sunday until Sunday morning. My friend, Jerry said it was last Sunday and that he was having a get-together, then he called Sunday morning and said, “oops it’s next weekend but come over anyway.” So you are no more of a football dunce than we are. I’m glad somebody announced here who is playing b/c I was in the dark on that as well….
