I just wrote the first article I’ve written in some time. It’s about your choice in RAW converters, and why they matter.
Felt good to write. Should do it more.

hmmm.. Interesting find Eric. I, myself, have not yet seen this behavior on C1LE’s conversion…
I’ll have to check the next time I see the situation you have described in your article.
I know that for myself….C1LE offers a much better and quicker workflow to the conversion versus the packaged Canon software.
I was really turned off by the lack of real-time viewing of changes in the Canon FVU. Everytime I made a change to the conversion properties…it would take a bit to load before viewing.
I havent tried CS yet, but I hear the workflow is comparable to C1’s.
unless you are converting underwater photos, you are unlikely to see that sort of behavior. i prefer C1 to the others most of the time, but underwater, they’re more evenly matched. :)
Eric, I noticed that COBA, the UG that Adam Tow is involved with is having a meeting this Wednesday and will be discussing RAW conversion software. would this have anything to do with your article? e.g. are you also involved in COBA and will be presenting?
