Heidi, Douglas, Shaved Beaver

movie @ times square

I think I was at home, conscious, for all of two hours over the weekend. Heidi, Douglas, Tony’s brother Scott, and my sister Wendy are all in town, so I spent much of the weekend wandering around with them (in various combinations) and eating. A bunch of us went out to see “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” which I thought was excellent. And for all you people who hate Jim Carey, you’re dumb you should give it a chance. But if you don’t like him, you clearly have never seen Dumb and Dumber, because it’s the best movie ever.

A few notes:

  • My head is getting fatter and fatter in photographs. Wish I could fix that!

  • Dim sum at the Oriental Palace Seafood Restaurant is good, but you may be forced to join an old man at the table with your party of eight. If the host walks up to your group, points directly past you and makes beckoning motions, it means that your table is ready.

  • The Chinatown Ice Cream factory is awesome.

  • Eating costs a lot here.

  • Ai-jen is determined to change my look. Shopping in SoHo is fun.

  • I should stop saying in public that I am friendly with a bunch of older white men.

  • We found a shirt made of the best material ever.

My mind is sort of blank. I think I need to rest. [see some photos]

I hope Marta reads this. It seems to me she would laugh at the beaver shirt. Find something made of lobster next. :)

hi, jo! you know, I forwarded her that photo this morning. ;)

you can fix your fat head by eating less and exercising!! (-: oops, that doesn’t sound too good, does it? ignore what i just said.

Dumb & Dumber? Please tell me you’re joking. Now if you said Ace Ventura, (which is one of my favs) I’d understand. But Dumb & Dumber? It pains me to think about how bad that was.

i keep telling myself to eat less and exercise. it’s a time problem. i think i’m overcommitted!

but in some photos it doesn’t look as fat. but i think the % fat head vs. not-fat head is going up. :)

also, you talk about your fat head and then in your next 3 notes you mention food! and speaking of awesome ice cream, have you ever been to Berthillon in Paris? it sells the most flavor-packed (flavorlicious!) ice creams and sorbets in the world! their fruit sorbets are so filled with fruit it’s like eating the fruit itself. my sister and i were there in ‘93 and we slurped 3 scoops each every day. talk about creating a fat head! (-:

Hi Eric! Thanks for your “support”… again! :o)

Well, it’s really hard to get the exercise routines going when busy schedules are apparent… hey, eat lots of apples!

well, i just read something about apples and health factors. i need to eat more apples… had 3 today! hehe :o)

Seriously Eric, I gotta go with Shawna on this one. Dumb and Dumber?? Oi vey.

I’m not sure diet and exercise are the way to a skinnier head… Maybe you need to start wearing hats with pinstripes! I hear those are slimming. (You’re in New York, you’ve gotta be able to find pinstripes somewhere.)

And, if it’s any consolation, I’ve always thought of you as big skulled.

norm - but your head is skinny to begin with. i’d like to see you do something to your fashion to make it look fat. ;)

i’m cuttin’ it all off this weekend (my hair, not my fat head). i’ve always said that i hate complaining. i’ve complained for too long!

and dumb and dumber rules. it’s genius embodied in film. ;)

Hey fathead! I beat you to it and shaved 25% of my beaver ;)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was incredible. I know only a handful of people that went to see it. I saw it opening night, and was blown away. Kate Winslet rocks too.

Going to see it tomorrow night Dorrie, i’m excited :)

I’ve heard nothing but good things about it and the cast rocks ;) I’m not a big Jim Carrey comedic fan, probably because people are constantly saying, “You know who you remind me of Syndromes?”… Anyway, should be fun :)

Good point! If pinstripes are thinning, is everything else fattening? Is there some piece of clothing I could wear that would make me look fat? Are there fashion people out there who could answer this question?

    If you ever find a solution to the Fat Head Syndrome, share the wealth! I’ve been quite self-conscious about my fat head for a while, too ^_^;

You think Fat Heads (Tm) are tough? Try having a Pea Head… begins sobbing

  19. posted by echeng on Tue, March 23, 2004 @ 2:10 pm

hahaha! pea-head. one of my friends had a theory that skinny-headed people are assholes.

maybe a skinny-headed person was mean to him as a kid or something.

anyway, i went out today and had all my hair cut off. i’ll post eventually, of course.

‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ rocked my world… I cried a bit too :/

But then again, I am a big wuss. But really, EASILY my favorite film that Jim Carrey has been in. They both did an incredible job.

I’m way too emotional at times I tell ya! But then again, I wouldn’t have it any other way ;)

I loved it, too, tho I didn’t notice Syndromes’ tears. It was well acted and very bittersweet, and didn’t have the same nauseating happy Hollywood ending that seems to be so prevalent lately.

Fat Heads … i once went on a Red Wine Diet, apparently there is so little fat in red wine it actually removes the fat as it goes through … bullshit more than likely, but I swapped from beer to red wine for a month and did loose weight. unfortunately it wasnt in my head. You know Eric .. its not usual for people to tell everyone else they have a big head , normally everyones else tells someone they have a big head (if that made sense)

oh yeah and I am commenting to say top subway shot i like that .. it looks alive (I was too embarrassed to take my camera out in the subway … the little time I was there I was very overwhelmed)

but maybe having a fat head is better than having a fat something else?
