Stormy Weather

Yesterday was gorgeous, but last night, the wind and rain picked up, and it hasn’t stopped since. The weather these past few has been somewhat inconsistent, presumably because the rainy season is just around the corner. However, underwater, it’s always good. There’s no runoff here to spoil the visibility. :)

a clownfish portrait

There are many, many neat critters here to photograph. I’m having a great time with them. :) The staff here timed a delicious outdoor feast with my birthday a couple of days ago, and brought out a birthday cake at dinner’s end. Birthdays are getting less exciting these days, and being here without spectacle and gifts was just fine. :)

Thanks again to all of you who sent nice birthday wishes! :)

Your bubble rings are improving dramatically, grasshopper! Are they staying intact (increasing in diameter) all the way to the surface?

Wakatobi sounds slightly better than sitting in class at 7am taking a final… (I mean, posting on your site waiting for the teacher to hand out the final.)

Ha! Didn’t realize one could blow bubble rings. Now, next time, let’s see you blow a ship bubble to float through the ring, Eric the Grey.

    Oh, happy belated bday!

That’s the meanest looking clownfish I’ve ever seen.

Blowing bubble rings is okay. Farting bubble rings… Now that would be impressive.

    Happy day!

thanks, guys. that clownfish is the same species as Nemo is. most of the time, people just blurt out, “Nemo!” whenever they see any clownfish photo of mine, without making sure that they match. ;)

Additionally that particular clownfish pic reminds me (and probably others) of the Finding Nemo scene where Nemo and his dad are preparing for Nemo’s first day of school and hide and emerge and hide again amidst the … seaweed-like-plant-thing … sigh I don’t know what it’s called.

    =)
