Wendy sent me this blurb regarding the mockingbird from a few days ago:
“Although all adult male mockingbirds sing during the day, only a bachelor sings at night. He stops doing that as soon as he wins a mate… Law is on the side of love and the bird, for it is illegal to harm, harass, or remove the mockingbird.”
Good thing I didn’t try anything! ;)
Before thinking about killing a bird, you should read “The Wind-up Bird Chronicle” by Haruki Murakami…
I’ve read it. Doesn’t change anything. :)
my dad and i shot down a mockingbird back in texas when i was a kid… (bb gun). it, too, was illegal in that state.
haha i didn’t like the wind-up bird chronicle so much as hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world …
:)
I may have missed the entry but any further news on the mockingbird?
The book is kinda’ bad, or should I say terrible!
To kill a Mockingbird is about the racism that existed in those days, and exists still today, its about how a innocent man was accused for rape. it is also about how we are affraid of whats different, and we push down the different, to make ourselves feel better
