   no one over there will be able to see my photos! AND, I use javascript to launch the slideshows, so even those won’t work. and since I have no textual content in this section of my site, it’s going to be a boring LJ mirror.

   hmm. do I enable comments at LJ, or disable them (they are disabled now)? I’d much rather people click over here to comment, but I am not sure that people will.
   
   Also, I refuse to use absolute URLs, so in addition to broken images, all of the links to areas in my website will be broken as well.
   
   too bad.

   That’s up to you … I understand the desire to keep things on the domain you’re most familiar with. That said, LJ users are more familiar with the LJ comment system.
   
   You’d probably be interested in the Scuba Diving lj community, as well as the Vienna Teng fan community.
   
   The nice part is - updates to your website show up on my “Friends” page so I can automagically see when you update (this is how I can track 100+ journals in just 30 minutes a day).
