Useful tools and links

I’ve updated my digital photo page to include links to what I consider to be useful software tools and information sites out there. There is SO MUCH good, free information on the web about digital photography! Also, I am happier now because the fonts on my screen are now pretty because I enabled ClearType. Previously, I could not because the old version of BreezeBrowser did bad things with text overlays if ClearType was enabled; I just couldn’t be bothered to switch the thing on and off all the time.

    Congrats on the new rig. Is it just me, or do the 1DS images seem sharper…even at web resolution? You haven’t changed your workflow at all, have you? (E.g., with regard to sharpening.)

    Oh, and big ups to ACDSee. Always.

    I did change my sharpening action because of the larger image size. Maybe that’s it?

    Unrelated: I just added Qimage to the list of useful apps.

    Perhaps that’s it, perhaps I’m insane.

    You don’t happen to have comparisons from the two cameras, resampled to identical, lower resolutions, do you? (Same sharpening or no sharpening at all.)

    [Still looking for something like Breezebrowser that will handle two "full-size" images...e.g., see the thumbnail (small) in the gallery and be able to go to a medium and a large version. I mean, I can do it manually, but I wish I could do it automatically along with the HTML creation. It's a big pain in the ass to hand-link all of it.]

    I’m not sure what having two resampled images will show, since no professional photographer would ever show raw, unsharpened work. :)

    Take a look @ IMatch… it has very cool scripting capabilities missing in others like ACDSee..
