Oh, and you can see my daily progress (maybe) right over here.

nice pics, since you are in hawaii you should get some live action surfing pics from the water , NOW THAT WILL BE IMPRESSIVE.

    http://www.hisurfadvisory.com/

  • http://www.guppieluv.com/ andrey

oh my gosh! this is unbelievable! everything’s gorgeous! are you training to work for national geographic… or have you freelanced for them already?? =o)

  • http://www.kennyliu.com Kenny Liu

I get to sleep in the same waterbed as Eric Cheng? I must be the envy of hundreds …no, THOUSANDS of women!!!

  • http://www.jaycine.com cyn

oohh! i’m so jealous!! no, not of you kenny. 8) but at least i get to have stinky tofu in a few days AND sugar cane juice AND papaya milkshakes!! nYAh nyah!

  • http://echeng.com eric

stinky tofu? I almost gagged when I ate that last. I a bad Taiwanese boy.

and, I sometimes feel that papaya smells vaguely of feces. does anyone else get that sense? :)

kenny — i think i have to try to cancel our banana plantation room, because i’d MUCH rather not sleep together in the same full size waterbed… hehehe. plus.. it stinks in there. the sheets are really musty. i miss my 400 thread count sheets.

oh! i saw 600 THREAD COUNT sheets a few months ago. I almost bought them. they were even in my shopping cart. but… i exercised restraint. i probably wouldn’t even have been able to tell the difference. :)

  • B

    dude…I’m jealous. are you retired?

  • http://echeng.com eric

retired? :) nope. (temporarily) lost? maybe. :)

  • http://www24.brinkster.com/prdmonkey gabe

I wish I was in Kona. Instead I am watching The One, good movie.

  • http://www.guppieluv.com/ andrey

oh eww!! i didn’t know sea cucumbers had butts LIKE THAT!!! nasty. hehe… baby got back!

so eric, is it the power of your camera, the photoshop retooling, or the natural beauty of your subjects that give your photos such oomph? how can i make my placid life stand out in such radiant colours?

  • dardy

    fake dardy post — deleted.

  • http://www.guppieluv.com/ andrey

"these people are trying to kiss your ass…"

uh, hope you’re not talking about me, dardy.

  • http://www.geocities.com/choccobo dardi!

uh. i wasn’t going to respond, but that first comment isn’t me. i don’t see why some lamer has to drag me into this mess if all he wants to do is advertise an adult site. it makes no sense.

  • http://www.geocities.com/choccobo/ dardi!

andrey, i didn’t post the first comment, it was some other lamer who posted that, as i wrote in my previous post.

so, i wonder if that person was trying to impersonate me or simply somebody who’s also called dardy. i can’t be sure who would impersonate me, but i know some possiblities. maybe someone mischievious who wanted an early april fool’s day.

on the other hand, it might simply be another person who’s named dardy. i have met some people who are also known as dardy.

i have different thoughts about kissing ass. eric’s pictures do look good, by and in itself. some of the praise might be exaggerated, and what would be wrong with that. it gets me thinking if it is right or not.

i don’t have time to think about this, because i’m at work. i wonder what other people’s opinions are about this.

  • http://www.guppieluv.com/ andrey

    SYCOPHANTS OF THE WORLD UNITE!

just kidding. i’m not a sycophant, i’m just a girl.

ok, this gets me wondering now… how do we know the people who are commenting are really who they claim to be? it’s so easy to just type in someone else’s name, email, website, whatever, and make hideous remarks about each other. i always thought that personal blogs and online journals are safe from these sneekers, but i guess i may be wrong… scary.

  • http://www.geocities.com/choccobo/ dardi!

i just went to the comments section for the last few 5 entries at this site. in the past 4 entries, a lamer pretended to be me and wrote some nonsense… i guess he is trying to make my reputation bad. arghh i have a reputation?

he wrote some things like i stuck a chopstick into my ass and other stupid things like that. he must be fucked up in the head like i was last week.

if you see entries by "dardy" it’s him. if it’s me, the name i go by is "dardi!"

  • http://tow.com adam

I had to deal with the "dardy" impersonator on my site today. Childish people do childish things. Sigh.

  • http://kennyliu.com kenny

E: I don’t think I’d even sleep in the same ROOM as you. Oh wait, I already did… rats. Anyways, different beds would be nice. Otherwise, maybe I’ll just make friends with the mosquitos and sleep on the floor. Your pictures are fucking awesome, by the way.

  • heidi

Hi Eric and Kenny! One question: where does the propensity for lying in the middle of a highway come from, Kenny? Every trip pic I’ve seen features a highway photo…

  • http://www.geocities.com/enjelani enjelani

beautiful photographs, Eric! (not that this a surprise in the least)…

i find it’s particularly fascinating to look at photos taken by someone i (sort of) know — there’s the added aspect of realizing that this is how he sees the world from behind a camera lens. not saying that i understand how your mind works based on your photos, but wow, it sure notices cool stuff. :)

  • Dave P

I wanna go diving! I haven’t been since August and your photos really make want to plan a trip. I didn’t think there was decent diving in Hawaii until I saw your photos. Wow, was I wrong; it looks nice.

Beautiful photos as always. Think of all of us landlubbers back here in the Bay area the next time you clap underwater to make a Christmas Tree worm close up. :)

  • poopy

    those turtles are so cute!

  • Steven

Maybe I’m a minimalist, but I really like the ‘looking down into the blue’ pictures!

Really though – I’ve been snorkeling once or twice, long time ago – and I didn’t see anything down there. Maybe all those pretty fish just don’t like me. Or maybe they’re just camera hogs :)

Anyways, beautiful fish pictures – aquariums just don’t do them proper justice, even if they are actually there in the flesh.

  • http://www.guppieluv.com andrey

how sad! the injured pufferfish from 4/6 looks like it’s crying! =(

  • http://echeng.com eric

hey guys. thanks for all of the attention. :) marine life is very cool. I had the most AMAZING night dive tonight. I’ll get the pics up after I return to SF tomorrow. :) I can’t wait to post them. They’re the first real evidence I’ve come across that the D60 can kick some major ass if used properly. :)

  • Dave P

HS! Beautiful photos from your last day. The filefish, shark, and squid shots are awesome! How in the world did you get so close to the squid? The detail and colors are fantastic. Even using a huge lens, I’d guess you still had to be within 18 inches.
