my own tastes in art, literature, and philosophy aren't very refined. I'm not a gear nut, I'm not a photographer, nor am I an artist, writer, poet, or musician - my set of talents and cultural exposure are arguably very limited. I don't even know how to ride a bike.

However, Eric has never treated me disparagingly for being a scruffy-headed simpleton. On the contrary, he's never been anything other than cordial or friendly towards me, though we're at most peripheral friends at this time. So what, in your personal experience, 'anonymous teen' and other assorted lurkers, makes him elitist or exclusionary?

i’ve gone from being not religious to religious to not religious… and i e-mailed enjelani as well about this saying that i think what’s missing in the understanding (for most non-christian people) is simply faith. there’s a huge difference between the lack of faith and the leap of faith that non-christians and christians have, respectively.

"Elitist" is probably a term that envious, negative people come up with when they visit your site. My unsolicitied advice: don't worry about what anonymous haters spew out, certainly not to the point where you acknowledge their presence in your blog.
